THANK YOU GEORGIA DOT!?

The contractor had to come and pull us out of this mud with a chain and Bob Cat (tractor). Good thing we have a hitch on the back of the van! This mess has been going on for 28 months. We are ready for this project to be OVER! This is almost the straw that broke the camel's back. We have been dealing with mud, dust, inconvenience, moved mailbox, no mailbox, blocked driveway, no fence, no gate and contract issues. After three big loads of more crushed rock there was somewhat of an improvement. The surface was still spongy when humans walked over it. Then yesterday they dug all that up and added new gravel. We were able to get out of the driveway today. WHEN WILL THIS EVER END!?

MAMA TURNS 90

Katie turns 90! We took her to eat at her favorite place--Cracker Barrel. All of her children (both of us) and her grands were there as well. I managed to surprise her, and my brother, by inviting Gloria and Sandra, their spouses and their Dad, Tom. We have been friends, well more like family, for 60+ years. My Mom was so surprised and so excited that "all" of her kids were there. I made her a strawberry pound cake with butter frosting with strawberries. It was delicious. No wonder it's so hard for me to get this weight off my bones!
