The Lovell Sisters

Friday afternoon we drove down to Macon, GA to a concert at the historic Douglass Theatre featuring the Lovell Sisters from Calhoun, Georgia. At the age of five all of these young ladies started taking classical violin and piano. They sang in their church choir and were members of string quartets and youth symphonies. They now play a mix of country, folk and contemporary acoustic music. These girls are so talented. They have traveled over 24 states and overseas. They won NPR's "Prairie Home Companion with Garrison Keillor" National Teen Talent Competition in 2005 and have an album, "When Forever Rolls Around". We bought one of their albums and they all three autographed it. During the intermission they all came out into the lobby and met everyone.

Check out their website at: www.lovellsisters.band.com

Jessica, the oldest sister plays the fiddle, Megan the middle sister plays the dobro and Rebecca, youngest plays the tar out of the mandola, guitar and banjo. They had two other musicians playing with them, Matt Wingate played guitar and was awesome and Andy Nall played the electric bass.

If you ever have an opportunity to see The Lovell Sisters in concert don't miss them.
